Indiana's Highest Point (Hoosier Hill - Elevation 1,257 ft)
Today we headed towards Hoosier Hill Indiana. In July we were in Colorado and stood on the top of Pikes Peak (14,110 ft.). Needless to say, this just was not quite the same. I cant put my finger on it...something was just different! On the way to Hoosier Hill I snapped this picture of the sky, it just looked so cool.
And another one.
Shortly after taking the sky pics we were there. Hoosier Hill is only about 41 miles from my house. See that little rock pile on the left? That my friends is the highest point in Indiana!
For kicks I had to climb the unforgiving rock pile of doom long enough to get a pic with my GPS, because after all, this is a geocache. See how out of breath I am! I suggest bringing some oxygen if you decide to visit this place!
For comparison, here I am in July on the summit of Pikes Peak Colorado (14,110 ft). I still just cant put my finger on it... something different. That little green spot in the middle, that's me ;) OH, and this is not even the highest point in CO.
Helen was also feeling the need for adrenaline today!
We were not alone. Helen found this little fellow hanging out at the high point as well. You know what that means...winter is just around the corner ladies and gents!
After we left Hoosier Hill we headed towards Summit Lake State Park because I was hoping to get some good fall foliage pictures. We stopped at this spot to grab another geocache and I just had to get a shot of the view from here.
Summit Lake State Park, Indiana. The sun was getting really low at this time, but I got what I could.
This was taken in the campground. My light quickly dissipating.
No sun to shoot the leaves...fine, I will shoot the sunset then ;) I hoped you liked the pics, feel free to leave me some feedback below.
Where Is Hoosier Hill?
